DS Server

Client-Side Libraries

Topic

Once DS Server runs and has a security profile, the client-side libraries are the shortest way from your application to its services. NuGet packages add the Document Editor and the Document Viewer to ASP.NET Core views and call the Web API from C#, and npm packages add the two components to Angular and React applications. Read on for what each package installs, which framework versions it supports and every setting, attribute or property it accepts.

The Getting Started tutorials use the same packages to build a first application step by step. Come here when you need a setting the tutorial doesn't show, or want to know what a library does for you.

What the Libraries Do

A client library loads the Document Editor or the Document Viewer from your DS Server, gets the OAuth access token that DS Server requires, and passes your settings, such as the size, the edit mode or the document to show. The .NET packages for DocumentProcessing and Admin turn the Web API endpoints into C# methods. All packages are at version 5.0.0, the version meant for DS Server 5.0.

Where to Start

  1. Read Overview to choose a library and decide how it gets its access token.
  2. Make sure the security profile fits that choice: Creating Security Profiles and OAuth Grant Types.
  3. Open the page of your frontend and install its package.
