ReportingCloud

What's New

Topic

Since its release in July 2016, ReportingCloud has gained new endpoints, merge settings and portal features, and its document processing engine has moved to newer versions of TX Text Control. For each year from 2024 back to 2020, you find what changed, and which changes need work in an application or concern members that will be removed. The years from 2016 to 2019 are summarized under Older Versions. Developers who update an application, or who want to know whether a feature existed when a blog article or a sample was written, start here.

How ReportingCloud Changes

  • No versions to install. ReportingCloud is a service that Text Control runs. A change is available to every account as soon as it is deployed, and the endpoints of the Web API have stayed below /v1/ since the release. This is why the pages are by year rather than by version.
  • Engine upgrades. The Web API and the template editor are built on TX Text Control .NET Server. Each move to a new TX Text Control version, announced on the blog for X14, X15 and X16, brought the features of that version to templates and merged documents. A later move went unannounced: the PDF documents the service created in October 2026 name tx_pdf 28.0.353.500, the PDF engine of TX Text Control 28.0 (X18), as their producer.
  • SDK versions. The .NET, PHP and Ruby SDKs are packages with version numbers of their own on NuGet, Packagist and RubyGems; the Java SDK is built from its repository. SDKs describes the current state of each.
  • Where the dates come from. Changes to the service are dated by their announcements on the Text Control Blog, SDK releases by the package registries and the change logs of the SDK repositories. The last blog announcement of a new feature dates from August 2019. From 2020 on, the changes are SDK releases; no change to the Web API or the portal was announced.

Where to Start

  1. Updating an SDK? Read Breaking Changes for every year since the release of the SDK version you use, then the year pages, for the features you gain.
  2. Looking for a feature? Find it in the table above, then follow the links on its year page.
  3. Maintaining older code? Check it against Deprecated APIs and replace the user name and password authentication and the former packages it uses.

New to ReportingCloud? Start with the Introduction instead; the year pages assume that you know the service.
