What's New in ReportingCloud in 2016
Text Control released ReportingCloud in July 2016. In the months that followed, the Web API gained template information, find and replace, CORS and a test mode that doesn't count against the document quota, and the portal gained template management, a test sandbox and the template editor of TX Text Control X14.

Release
- Release (July 13). Text Control released ReportingCloud, announced on May 25, 2016: a Web API that merges MS Word compatible templates with JSON data, converts documents, manages the template storage and renders template pages as images, and a portal with an HTML5 template editor and datasource excerpts. The SDKs for .NET, PHP, Ruby and Java were published as open source on GitHub; the first .NET, PHP and Ruby packages appeared in June 2016. Web API
- Test mode (October 6). The parameter
testofPOST /v1/document/merge,POST /v1/document/convertandPOST /v1/document/findandreplacecreates documents with a watermark that don't count against the document quota. See Plans and Licensing and ReportingCloud: New Test Parameter for Document Quota Related Endpoints. - CORS (September 26). The Web API answers requests from any origin, so JavaScript in a browser can call it directly. See Architecture and ReportingCloud Web API Supports Now Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS).
- Find and replace (September 7). POST /v1/document/findandreplace replaces pairs of strings in a document, including its headers, footers and text frames. The .NET SDK added it the same day. See Find and Replace and ReportingCloud: New Endpoint to Find and Replace Text.
- Template information (August 30). GET /v1/templates/info returns the merge fields of a template and its structure of nested merge blocks. See Managing Templates and New ReportingCloud Endpoint: Retrieving Template Information Including Contained MergeFields and the MergeBlock Structure.
Portal
- TX Text Control X14 template editor (December 9). The template editor of the portal moved to the MVC editor of TX Text Control X14, version 24.0. The new editor enabled its save button only when the template had changed. See Template Editor and ReportingCloud: Reference Implementation of TX Text Control X14 (24.0).
- Web API Test Sandbox (October 7). A sandbox in the portal sent Web API calls with your account and template storage without counting them against the document quota. See Portal and Web API Test Sandbox Released on ReportingCloud Portal.
- Template management in the portal (September 5). The template list gained actions to rename, copy, download and delete a template, and datasource excerpts got the Ace code editor. See Template Storage, Datasource Excerpts and New Features in ReportingCloud Portal.
