TX Text Control

  • TX Text Control X14 Service Pack 1 (February 7). The service pack fixed mail merge and the template editor. The editor gained a choice between the local and the server clipboard, scrollable drop-down lists for large data sources, a ribbon group for the page background and frame, zoom options and switches for table grid lines and control characters. Its Frame Formatting group shows the name and ID of bound objects. See TX Text Control X14 Service Pack 1 Deployed to ReportingCloud Portal and API.

Web API

  • API keys (December 29). Requests can authenticate with an API key instead of a user name and password. An account has up to 10 keys, created and deleted in Manage Account or with PUT /v1/account/apikey, DELETE /v1/account/apikey and GET /v1/account/apikeys. The .NET SDKs supported them the same day, the PHP SDK from version 1.6.0 of January 14, 2018. See API Keys and ReportingCloud: Introducing API Keys for Client Authentication.
  • Culture (October 13). The merge setting culture, such as de-DE, formats currency and date fields for a language; the default is en-US. See Culture and ReportingCloud: Setting the Culture for Date and Currency Fields.
  • Document sharing beta (October 5). GET /v1/document/share returns an encrypted name under which a viewer widget shows a document of the template storage on any website. The feature left its beta on January 8, 2018. See Sharing Documents and Sharing Documents with ReportingCloud.
  • Spell checking (August 23). GET /v1/proofing/check, GET /v1/proofing/suggestions and GET /v1/proofing/availabledictionaries made the spell checking of the template editor, with more than 50 dictionaries at the time, available to any application. See Spell Checking and Proofing Tools Available As ReportingCloud Web API Endpoints.
  • Google Fonts (August 22). More than 2,000 Google Fonts were installed on the servers: templates can use them, and the template editor and GET /v1/fonts/list list them. See Supported File Formats and All Google Fonts Now Available in ReportingCloud.
  • HTML in merge fields (August 21). With the merge setting mergeHtml, field data enclosed in an <html> element is formatted with <strong>, <em> and <u>. See HTML Content and New ReportingCloud MergeSettings Option: Merge HTML Content into Merge Fields.
  • Font list (March 29). GET /v1/fonts/list returns the names of the fonts that templates can use. The .NET SDK added ListFonts, the PHP SDK the endpoint in version 1.3.0 of April 5. See New ReportingCloud Endpoint: List Available Fonts.

Portal

  • Sample Template Gallery (September 3). The portal received a gallery of sample templates, and Add to My Templates copies a template and its sample data into your account. See Template Storage and ReportingCloud: Sample Template Gallery Launched.
  • Template preview (April 22). The portal previewed stored templates in an ASP.NET MVC DocumentViewer, with page thumbnails, text selection and search. See New ASP.NET MVC DocumentViewer Rolled out to the ReportingCloud Portal.
  • Groups (March 17). Accounts with the Extreme plan can create groups, assign templates to them and invite template designers who edit only the templates of their group. See Template Storage and Introducing Groups for ReportingCloud Extreme Users.

SDKs

  • .NET Core package (August 28). The package TXTextControl.ReportingCloud.Core brought the .NET SDK to .NET Core on Windows, macOS and Linux. The multi-target package replaced it in December 2018. See .NET and ReportingCloud .NET Core Wrapper Released: Creating Documents on Windows, Linux, Mac and Docker.
  • Zend Framework 3 module (June 16 to 19). The module that integrates the PHP SDK into Zend Framework 3 applications had its first releases. It is today's Laminas module textcontrol/textcontrol-laminas-reportingcloud.
