ReportingCloud

What's New in ReportingCloud in 2018

Topic

TX Text Control X15 and an endpoint that appends documents came to ReportingCloud in 2018. The portal gained usage statistics and the beta of an editor widget, the plans could be bought monthly, and the .NET SDK became one package for all .NET targets. Upgrading says what to change in an application that used the earlier SDK packages.

TX Text Control

  • TX Text Control X15 (January 8). The Web API and the portal moved to TX Text Control X15, version 25.0, which brought header and footer content that overlaps the main text and the pagination settings keep with next and page break before for table rows. The template editor gained its auto-save, and document sharing left its beta. See Template Editor and ReportingCloud Upgraded to TX Text Control X15 - New Features.

Web API

  • Appending documents (October 1). POST /v1/document/append combines several documents into one, each separated from the one before it by nothing, a new paragraph or a new section. The .NET SDK added it in version 1.0.115.500 of September 21, the PHP SDK in version 1.9.0 of October 23. See Appending Documents and New ReportingCloud Endpoint: Appending Documents.
  • User document properties (July 27). GET /v1/templates/info also returns userDocumentProperties, the user-defined properties of a template. The .NET SDK supports them from version 1.0.113.500 of the same day. See Managing Templates and ReportingCloud: Retrieve User Defined Properties from Templates.

Portal and Plans

  • Monthly subscriptions (September 18). Besides annual subscriptions, the plans can be bought as monthly subscriptions that renew until they are canceled. See Plans and Licensing and ReportingCloud Monthly Payment Available.
  • Editor widget beta (July 13). A widget embedded the template editor into any HTML page with a script tag. A sample of July 18 used it in an ASP.NET Core MVC application. See Portal, ReportingCloud Editor Widget Released to Beta and Edit Templates in an ASP.NET Core MVC Application (.NET Core).
  • Usage statistics and GDPR (May 8). The Statistics section of the portal shows the quota usage per month from May 2018 on. Paid accounts could create a data processing agreement under the GDPR in the portal; Data Security and Privacy says how to get it today. See Transactions and Statistics and ReportingCloud: GDPR Data Processing Agreement and Statistics.

SDKs

  • PHP SDK 2.0 (December 19). Version 2.0 removes the dependencies on Zend Framework, requires PHP 7.1 or later and uses strict typing throughout. The blog announced it on January 3, 2019.
  • One .NET package (December 3). Version 1.200.500 of TXTextControl.ReportingCloud, published on November 30, is a multi-target package for .NET Framework, .NET Core and .NET Standard. The separate package TXTextControl.ReportingCloud.Core is marked deprecated. See .NET and ReportingCloud: One Multi-Target Wrapper for .NET, .NET Core and .NET Standard.

Upgrading

  • Replace the .NET Core package. A .NET Core project that references TXTextControl.ReportingCloud.Core references TXTextControl.ReportingCloud instead. Installing an SDK has the command.
  • Check the PHP version. PHP SDK 2.0 requires PHP 7.1 or later.
