TX Spell .NET for Windows Forms

Context Menu and Suggestion Controls

Topic

A right-click on an underlined word lets the user correct it without leaving the text. TX Spell .NET for Windows Forms provides this context menu for TX Text Control, the menu items to build one of your own, and the lists that show suggestions in the spell check dialog. Here is what each of them is and where it is described in detail.

The Built-In Context Menu

When a TXSpellChecker is connected to a TextControl, a right-click on a misspelled word opens a spell check menu with the suggestions for the word, Ignore and Ignore All, Add To Dictionary and the two dialogs, without any code:

A TextControl with red zigzag lines under misspelled words and the spell check context menu of the word "sampke": the suggestions sample, spake, smoke, samples and sampler, then Ignore, Ignore All and a disabled Add To Dictionary, then Spell Check Dialog and Options.

The SpellCheckContextMenuStrip property of the TextControl turns it off or replaces it; Context Menus describes both.

Suggestion Lists

TX Spell .NET has no separate suggestion control to drop on a form. Suggestions appear in the lists of the spell check dialog, at the top of the context menu, and in controls of your own that you fill with CreateSuggestions or bind to the SpellingCorrectionUIProvider. Suggestion Controls describes each place.
