What's New in TX Text Control ActiveX 13.0
Where do page margins, header positions and row heights get set with the mouse? From TX Text Control ActiveX 13.0 on, a vertical ruler bar handles them. The version also brought toolbars in the Windows color schemes, hypertext links in PDF documents, a paragraph dialog box with text flow options and HTML import from the clipboard.
The sections below list the features and the new members that version 13.0 added since version 12.0.
New Features
- Vertical ruler bar. A vertical ruler bar sets the top and bottom page margins, the position and height of headers and footers and the height of table cells. The Direction property of the TXRulerBar control switches the bar from horizontal to vertical, and the VerticalRulerHandle property connects the vertical ruler bar to a TXTextControl control.
- Toolbar design. All toolbars support the Windows color schemes that users select in the system settings. The buttons and the background of the button bar vary in color from light to dark, and the ruler bar and the status bar have one background color that depends on the color scheme of the system. The txColorScheme setting of the TXButtonBar.Appearance, TXButtonBar.Style and TXRulerBar.Appearance properties and the sbColorScheme setting of the TXStatusBar.Appearance property select the new design.
- Hypertext links in PDF documents. When a document is exported in Adobe PDF format, all text fields of the special types txFieldExternalLink, txFieldInternalLink and txFieldLinkTarget become a link or a target in the PDF document.
- Paragraph formatting. A new dialog box sets paragraph attributes. It adds paragraph frames and the text flow options Keep with next paragraph, Keep lines of paragraph together, Page break before paragraph and Widow/Orphan control. In code, the KeepWithNext, KeepLinesTogether, PageBreakBefore and WidowOrphanLines properties of the
TXTextControlcontrol and of the Style object set these options. - Clipboard import. TX Text Control imports HTML-formatted text from the clipboard.
- Hypertext targets. The new TXTextControl.FieldLinkTargetMarkers property makes hypertext targets visible.
- Text fields and hypertext links. The new TXTextControl.FieldSetInputPos method determines the exact input position at the beginning or at the end of a marked text field.
