Developers and buyers who plan to use ReportingCloud in production need to know three things about a plan: how many documents it creates a month, how many templates it stores and what the services agreement allows. ReportingCloud is sold as a subscription that you pay by the month or by the year, and every plan sets quotas for documents, stored templates and spell checking. The prices and quotas below are those of the [ReportingCloud pricing page](https://reporting.cloud/Home/Pricing), the current price list.

### The Plans at a Glance

| | Trial | Basic | Standard | Premium | Extreme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price per month | Free for 30 days | $39 | $69 | $109 | $169 |
| Price per year | | $348 | $708 | $1,188 | $1,908 |
| Templates in storage | 20 | 10 | 20 | 100 | 500 |
| Documents per month | 1,000 | 300 | 1,000 | 20,000 | 100,000 |
| Proofing transactions per month | 10,000 | 10,000 | 20,000 | 50,000 | 500,000 |
| Online template editor | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Group management | No | No | No | No | Yes |
| JavaScript widget | Yes | No | No | No | Yes |
| DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, TX and PDF | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| PDF/A | No | No | No | No | Yes |
| Document sharing | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Technical support | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |

A yearly subscription costs less than twelve monthly payments of the same plan. The rows of the table mean:

- **Templates in storage** is the number of templates and shared documents that your template storage holds.
- **Documents per month** and **proofing transactions per month** set the document quota and the spell checking quota that the next section explains.
- **Group management** lets the holder of an Extreme account assign templates to groups and invite external template designers. Each designer gets a login of their own and can edit and create templates only in their group. The templates of all groups count against the account's templates in storage.
- **JavaScript widget** is an MS Word compatible editor that you embed in your own web page with a script tag.
- **Document sharing** shows documents from your template storage on your website in a viewer widget. See [Sharing Documents](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/document-processing/sharing/llms-full.txt).

### What Counts Against Which Quota

Each quota is counted per account. The Web API reference marks every endpoint that counts:

| Quota | Endpoints | How it is counted |
|---|---|---|
| Document quota | `document/merge`, `document/convert`, `document/findandreplace`, `document/append`, `document/thumbnails`, `templates/thumbnails`, `processing/review/removetrackedchange` | 1 for each successful request |
| Spell checking quota | `proofing/check`, `proofing/suggestions` | 1 for each request |
| Template storage quota | `templates/upload` | 1 for each uploaded template. An upload under the name of a stored template, in any letter case, replaces it and isn't counted again. Deleting a template lowers the count again. |

- **The pricing page names fewer endpoints.** It counts merge, findandreplace and convert against the document quota. The reference pages of append, of the two thumbnails endpoints and of removetrackedchange say that they count against it as well.
- **The other endpoints** carry no quota note in the reference: the template management endpoints other than upload and thumbnails, the account endpoints, `GET /v1/fonts/list`, `GET /v1/proofing/availabledictionaries`, `GET /v1/document/share` and `POST /v1/processing/review/trackedchanges`.
- **An exceeded quota** makes the endpoint answer with status 403 (Forbidden). See [Errors and Status Codes](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/document-processing/errors/#forbidden) and [Quotas and Limits](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/troubleshooting/quotas-limits/llms-full.txt).

You can read your usage in two places. [GET /v1/account/settings](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/reference/web-api/account/settings/get/llms-full.txt) returns `createdDocuments` and `maxDocuments`, `uploadedTemplates` and `maxTemplates`, `proofingTransactions` and `maxProofingTransactions`, the `serialNumber` of the account, which is `Trial` on a trial account or the 13-character serial number of a subscription, and the date it is valid until (`validUntil`), which is `null` on a trial account. In the ReportingCloud portal, the dashboard shows your quota, and [Transactions and Statistics](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/portal/statistics/llms-full.txt) shows the monthly usage.

### Test Mode

The endpoints that create documents, `POST /v1/document/merge`, `POST /v1/document/convert`, `POST /v1/document/findandreplace` and `POST /v1/document/append`, take an optional `test` query parameter. A request with `test=true`:

- doesn't count against the document quota,
- creates documents with a "TEST MODE" watermark,
- and is processed with a lower priority.

Use it to try templates and data without using up your quota, for example `https://api.reporting.cloud/v1/document/merge?templateName=sample_invoice.tx&returnFormat=PDF&test=true`.

> Warning
>
> **Test Mode on Trial and Free Accounts.** A trial account can use test mode as well, but on a trial only a test run of `document/convert` or `document/append` is left out of the document quota: a test run of `document/merge` or `document/findandreplace` counts against it like any other request. Test mode isn't available with a Free account.

### Trial and Free Account

Every account starts as a trial:

- **Trial.** Signing up in the portal creates a trial account for 30 days, with the quotas of the Trial column and the demo template `sample_invoice.tx` in its storage. The documents it creates carry the ReportingCloud logo at the top left of the page, also outside test mode, and PDF/A isn't available. Test mode is available, with the counting that [Test Mode](#test-mode) describes. [Creating an Account](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/installation/account/llms-full.txt) shows the sign-up.
- **Free account.** After 30 days, the trial account falls back to a Free account, which creates up to 100 documents a month. The **Manage Account** page of the portal also converts a trial account into a Free account. The current pricing page doesn't list the Free account.
- **No commercial use.** The services agreement doesn't allow trial and Free accounts in business or commercial applications, and it doesn't allow more than one Free account to raise the document quota of a commercial application. Text Control may monitor accounts and their use by the public IP addresses they come from.

### Subscriptions

You buy a subscription for one of the plans in the Text Control online store, by the month or by the year. After the payment, your Text Control account lists the subscription's serial number, which you add to your ReportingCloud account on the **Manage Account** page of the portal; [Upgrading to a Subscription](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/installation/subscription/llms-full.txt) walks through the steps.

- **Monthly subscriptions** renew every month until you cancel them. The fee is charged to your credit card, and your Text Control online store account shows the invoices and your current subscriptions. A canceled subscription stays valid until its expiry date and is not renewed.
- **Yearly subscriptions** are paid once a year, at the yearly prices in the table above. Renewed before its expiry date, a yearly subscription costs less: the [price list](https://www.textcontrol.com/product/reporting-cloud/pricing/all/product/) of the Text Control store gives 289 for Basic, 588 for Standard, 1,068 for Premium and 1,788 for Extreme, against 348, 708, 1,188 and 1,908 for a new subscription. A renewal up to 30 days after the expiry date costs the full yearly price.

### The Services Agreement

Using ReportingCloud means accepting the Text Control ReportingCloud Services and Data Processing Agreement between you and Text Control GmbH. You can read it [in the portal](https://portal.reporting.cloud/Documentation/License/). Its rules for using the service:

- **End-user applications.** You may use ReportingCloud for private and commercial purposes in an end-user application, an application program licensed to a person or company for business or personal use.
- **No competing service.** You may not use ReportingCloud to build a web service or product that offers a service like ReportingCloud to other developers.
- **No resale.** You may not sell, lease or rent access to the services, offer them on a timeshare or service bureau basis or host them so that third parties create content with them.
- **Trial and Free accounts** are not for business or commercial applications, as described above.
- **Your login.** You keep your login information confidential and are responsible for everything done with it. Text Control may end the agreement when your account is used by third parties.
- **Termination.** Text Control may also end the agreement when you breach it or after an extended period of inactivity in your account. Ending an account can include deleting its files and content.
- **Your own ReportingCloud.** If you want to host a ReportingCloud service yourself, the agreement asks you to contact Text Control.
- **Changes.** Text Control may change the agreement and the services at any time. If you don't accept changed terms, you have to stop using the services.

What the agreement says about personal data, and the data processing agreement for the GDPR, is described in [Data Security and Privacy](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/overview/security/llms-full.txt). The summary above doesn't replace the agreement, which is binding.
