Did a feature of ReportingCloud arrive before 2020, and when? Every year from the release in 2016 to 2019 has a page with its changes by area, each with its date and a link to the page that documents it. In these years, the Web API gained nearly all of its endpoints and merge settings, and the service moved from TX Text Control X14 to X16. The pages serve developers who maintain an application written in these years, or who want to know whether a blog article or a sample predates a feature.

The years from 2020 on are described in [What's New](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/whats-new/llms-full.txt), together with the breaking changes and deprecated APIs.

### Years at a Glance

| Year | What changed |
|---|---|
| [2019](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/whats-new/older-versions/2019/llms-full.txt) | TX Text Control X16, plain text output, thumbnails of uploaded documents, the status page, `removeEmptyLines` and tracked changes |
| [2018](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/whats-new/older-versions/2018/llms-full.txt) | TX Text Control X15, usage statistics, the editor widget beta, user document properties, monthly subscriptions, appending documents and one .NET package for all targets |
| [2017](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/whats-new/older-versions/2017/llms-full.txt) | TX Text Control X14 Service Pack 1, groups, the font list, HTML in merge fields, all Google Fonts, spell checking, the .NET Core package, the template gallery, document sharing, the culture setting and API keys |
| [2016](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/whats-new/older-versions/2016/llms-full.txt) | The release, template information, find and replace, CORS, test mode and the TX Text Control X14 template editor |

The dates are those of the announcements on the Text Control Blog, and for SDK releases those of the package registries and the change logs of the SDK repositories.

### TX Text Control Versions

The Web API, the portal and the template editor are built on TX Text Control .NET Server, and in these years each move to a new version was announced on the blog:

| TX Text Control | Version | In ReportingCloud since |
|---|---|---|
| X14 | [24.0](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/whats-new/older-versions/2400/llms-full.txt) | December 9, 2016, for the template editor |
| X14 Service Pack 1 | 24.0 | February 7, 2017 |
| X15 | [25.0](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/whats-new/older-versions/2500/llms-full.txt) | January 8, 2018 |
| X16 | [26.0](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/whats-new/older-versions/2600/llms-full.txt) | January 3, 2019 |

The version pages of TX Text Control .NET Server describe the features that each version brought to templates and merged documents. No later upgrade was announced, but the PDF documents the service created in October 2026 name `tx_pdf 28.0.353.500` as their producer, the PDF engine of TX Text Control [28.0](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/whats-new/older-versions/2800/llms-full.txt) (X18).

### Where to Start

1. **Updating an application from these years?** Read [Breaking Changes](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/whats-new/breaking-changes/llms-full.txt), which lists the SDK releases from 2018 on that need work.
2. **Looking for the year of a feature?** Find it in the table above, then follow the links on its year page.
3. **Replacing old credentials or packages?** [Deprecated APIs](https://docs.textcontrol.com/reporting-cloud/whats-new/deprecated-apis/llms-full.txt) lists user name and password authentication in the PHP SDK and the former packages.
