Each NuGet package of TX Spell .NET for Windows Forms brings more than an assembly: the license, the US English language data and, for Windows Forms, the spell checker component with its dialogs. Knowing what a package puts into a project tells you which one to choose and what to expect in the output folder after a build.

### The Packages

| | `TXTextControl.TXSpell.WinForms.SDK` | `TXTextControl.TXSpell.Core.SDK` |
|---|---|---|
| For | Windows Forms applications | .NET and ASP.NET Core code without a user interface |
| Assemblies | *TXSpell.dll* and *TXSpell.Windows.Forms.dll* | *TXSpell.dll* |
| Main class | [TXSpellChecker](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-winforms/reference/txtextcontrol-proofing/txspellchecker/llms-full.txt), with its dialogs and context menus | [TXSpell](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-winforms/reference/txtextcontrol-proofing/txspell/llms-full.txt) |
| Target framework | .NET 8 | .NET 8 |
| Dependencies | None | None |

Neither package depends on TX Text Control. To use the spell checker with the editor of TX Text Control, install the TX Text Control package as well, `TXTextControl.TextControl.WinForms.SDK`, as [Create Your First Windows Forms Application](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-winforms/getting-started/tx-text-control/first-application/llms-full.txt) does.

### What a Package Contains

| File or folder | What it does in your project |
|---|---|
| *lib/net8.0* | The assemblies, which the project references, and German resources in *de* |
| *txspell.winforms.license* | Your license file; the build embeds it into your assembly as a resource |
| *Dictionaries* | The US English dictionary, *en\_US.dic* and *en\_US.aff*, copied into the output folder |
| *HyphenationLists* | The US English hyphenation list, copied into the output folder |
| *SynonymLists* | The US English thesaurus, copied into the output folder |
| *LanguageRecognition* | The data for language detection, copied into the output folder |
| *tools/VisualStudioToolsManifest.xml* | The toolbox tab **TXSpell 11.0** with the `TXSpellChecker` component |

After a build, the output folder holds the assemblies and the four language data folders, where the spell checker finds them by default. [Installing Dictionaries and Language Data](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-winforms/installation/language-data/llms-full.txt) shows how to add other languages next to them.

### Versions

| Version | Release |
|---|---|
| 11.0.1 | Service Pack 1, April 2026 |
| 11.0.0 | Version 11.0, March 2025 |

The package of version 10.0 had the same name, `TXTextControl.TXSpell.WinForms.SDK`, and installed in projects for .NET 5 and later; `TXTextControl.TXSpell.Core.SDK` is new in version 11.0. [Service Packs](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-winforms/whats-new/service-packs/llms-full.txt) lists the service packs, and [Version 11.0](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-winforms/whats-new/1100/llms-full.txt) what the version added.

### Which Package to Choose

- **A Windows Forms application**, with or without TX Text Control, uses `TXTextControl.TXSpell.WinForms.SDK`.
- **A service, a web application or a console application** that only checks text uses `TXTextControl.TXSpell.Core.SDK`. It also runs on Linux, for example as the spell checker of the Document Editor of TX Text Control .NET Server; the blog article [Document Editor with TX Spell .NET on Linux using ASP.NET Core](https://www.textcontrol.com/blog/2026/01/28/document-editor-tx-spell-net-linux-aspnet-core/) shows such an application.
