Before you write the first line of code with TX Spell .NET for WPF, three things have to be in place: a supported development environment, the setup on your development machine, and a way for your projects to get the NuGet packages and your license. Read on for what to install, where the files end up and how a project gets them, from the system requirements to upgrading an existing application.

### How You Get the Product

| | Development machine | Build server or CI/CD pipeline |
|---|---|---|
| What you install | The setup of the full or the trial version | Nothing: only the NuGet package |
| .NET 8 or higher projects | Install `TXTextControl.TXSpell.WPF.SDK` from the local package source **Text Control Offline Packages** | Restore the package from the Text Control Private NuGet Feed or your own feed |
| .NET Framework projects | Reference the assemblies in the *Assembly* folder of the installation | Build with the assemblies of the installation |
| Visual Studio designer | Not needed for TX Spell .NET: the spell checker is declared in XAML | Not needed |
| Language data | Installed with the setup and brought by the package | Brought by the package |

### The Installation Path

1. Check the [System Requirements](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-wpf/installation/requirements/llms-full.txt): .NET 8 or higher or the .NET Framework, Windows 10 or 11, and Visual Studio 2022.
2. Run the setup, as [Installing the Product](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-wpf/installation/setup/llms-full.txt) describes.
3. Install the package in your project, as [Installing and Updating Packages](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-wpf/installation/nuget/install-update/llms-full.txt) shows, or reference the assemblies in a .NET Framework project.
4. Add the dictionaries of your languages, as [Installing Dictionaries and Language Data](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-spell-dotnet-wpf/installation/language-data/llms-full.txt) describes.
