---

An application built with TX Text Control ActiveX needs the TX Text Control files, the Microsoft Foundation Classes library and the Microsoft XML parser on your client's machine. Which of them your setup program has to take care of depends on the setup toolkit you use.

### Create a Setup With Visual Basic 6

When you create the setup program of your Visual Basic application with the Package and Deployment Wizard that is part of Visual Basic 6, all redistributable files are included automatically.

### Files to Install

When you use a different setup toolkit, or when you [install TX Text Control on a server](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-activex/installation/server/llms-full.txt), the files below are the files TX Text Control needs to operate properly. Make sure that they exist on your client's machine in the proper version. If the machine has older versions of these files, update them.

| Group | Files | Where to install them |
|---|---|---|
| 1. TX Text Control core files | *tx4ole34.ocx*, *tx34.dll*, *tx34\_tls.dll*, *tx34\_wnd.dll*, *tx34\_obj.dll*, *tx34\_ic.dll*, *txsvggen.dll*, *txdomprs.dll* | One directory, together with group 2 |
| 2. TX Text Control text filters | *tx34\_rtf.dll*, *tx34\_htm.dll*, *tx34\_doc.dll*, *tx34\_xml.dll*, *tx34\_css.dll*, *tx34\_pdf.dll*, *tx34\_dox.dll*, *tx34\_xlx.dll* | The same directory as group 1 |
| 3. Microsoft Foundation Classes library | *MFC140U.DLL* (Platformtoolset v142) | The Windows system directory |
| 4. Microsoft XML parser | *MSXML3.DLL* (8.00.7820.0), *MSXML3A.DLL* (8.00.7820.0), *MSXML3R.DLL* (8.00.7820.0) | The Windows system directory |

#### TX Text Control Files

> Important
>
> **Install Every TX Text Control File in One Directory.** The files of the first and second group are the TX Text Control DLL files. You find all of them in the *\\bin* subdirectory of your TX Text Control installation directory. Install all of them, always, and all in the same directory.

The first file, *tx4ole34.ocx*, is the TX Text Control ActiveX server, which contains the ActiveX controls. These controls must be registered, as described [below](#register-the-activex-controls).

#### Microsoft Files

Verify that the Microsoft Foundation Classes library files of group 3 are installed on your client's computer, in the Windows system directory.

The files of group 4 contain the Microsoft XML parser. TX Text Control needs them for its XML features. They are installed in the Windows system directory as well.

To redistribute the files of group 3 or group 4, refer to Microsoft's redistribution policy.

### Register the ActiveX Controls

The following file must be registered in the registration database on your client's machine:

- *tx4ole34.ocx*

To register the TX Text Control ActiveX file on a server, use the command line tool *txregsvr.exe*, as [Installing TX Text Control on a Server](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-activex/installation/server/llms-full.txt) describes.
