# TabType Property

> Returns or sets the tab type of a formatting style by tab index 1 to 14: left, right, centered, decimal, or a right tab at the rightmost text position.

Returns or sets the formatting style's tabulator type.

### Syntax

```vbscript
Style.TabType(Index) [= value]
```

### Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Index | Specifies a tabulator index. It must be between 1 and 14. |

### Constants

Valid constants for the property value are:

| Constant | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | Left tab. |
| 2 | Right tab. |
| 3 | Centered tab. |
| 4 | Decimal tab. |
| 5 | Right tab at the right most text position. For this type any position set with the [TabPos](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-activex/reference/style/tabpos-property/llms-full.txt) property is ignored. |
