# FieldDelete Method

> Deletes the marked text field selected with FieldCurrent, with its text when DeleteTotal is True or keeping the text as plain text when it is False.

Deletes the marked text field specified by the [FieldCurrent](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-activex/reference/txtextcontrol/fieldcurrent-property/llms-full.txt) property, or changes it to simple text.

### Syntax

```vbscript
TXTextControl.FieldDelete DeleteTotal
```

### Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| DeleteTotal | Specifies whether only the field or the field including its text is deleted. If this parameter is True, the marked text field including its text is deleted. If this parameter is False, the marked text field is deleted, but its text contents are preserved. |

### Return Value

The method returns True when the operation could be performed, otherwise it returns False.
