# FontDialog Method

> Opens the built-in TXTextControl font dialog box on the font and color tab or the position and effects tab; returns True if the user changed attributes.

Invokes the Text Control's built-in font dialog box and, after the user has closed the dialog box, specifies whether he has changed something.

### Syntax

```vbscript
TXTextControl.FontDialog [ActiveTab]
```

### Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| ActiveTab | Optional. Specifies the index of the tab, zero-based, that is displayed when the tabbed dialog box is opened. The following values are possible: |

#### ActiveTab

| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| 0 | The dialog box shows the tab for selecting a font and a text color. |
| 1 | The dialog box shows the tab for setting the text position and text effects. |

### Return Value

The method returns True when the user has changed one or more attributes. The method returns False when the formatting remains unchanged.

### Remarks

The changes, made in the dialog box, apply to the currently selected text.
