# FootnoteNext Method

> Returns the identifier of the footnote after the specified one, or of the first footnote for 0, to enumerate all footnotes; returns 0 after the last one.

This method returns the identifier of the footnote that follows the specified footnote in the Text Control's current text. It can be used to find the next footnote in the text or to enumerate all footnotes.

Introduced: 32.0.

### Syntax

```vbscript
TXTextControl.FootnoteNext FootnoteId
```

### Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| FootnoteId | Specifies a footnote identifier. If this parameter is zero, the identifier of the first footnote is returned. |

### Return Value

The method returns the identifier of the footnote that follows the specified footnote. It returns zero when there is no following footnote.
