# SectionLength Property

> Returns the number of characters in the section with a given number, starting at 1, without the section break character; a read-only Long at run time only.

Gets the number of characters in the section. The section break character is not included.

### Syntax

TXTextControl.SectionLength Number
```

### Parameters

| Number | Specifies the section's number. The first section has the number 1. To get the number of the section at the text input position the [SectionAtInputPos](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-activex/reference/txtextcontrol/sectionatinputpos-property/llms-full.txt) property can be used. |
