# TableGetOuter Method

### Syntax

TXTextControl.TableGetOuter TableId
```

### Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| TableId | Specifies a table identifier. It is the same identifier set with the [TableInsert](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-activex/reference/txtextcontrol/tableinsert-method/llms-full.txt) method. |

### Return Value

Specifies the table identifier of the given table's outer table or zero, if the given table is a top-level table. It is also zero, if the specified table is invalid.
