# TableSplitCells Method

> Splits the selected table cells, which must have been merged before, and returns False when the selection is not within a single table.

This method splits all selected table cells. Only previously merged cells can be split. The [TableCanSplitCells](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-activex/reference/txtextcontrol/tablecansplitcells-property/llms-full.txt) property can be used to determine if table cells can be split or not.

### Syntax

```vbscript
TXTextControl.TableSplitCells
```

### Return Value

The method returns True, if the table cells could successfully be split. The method returns False, if an error has occurred, or if the current selection is not within a single table.
