# ElementName Property

> Returns or sets the name of an XMLElement as a String; the name can only be changed for newly created elements, not for elements of an XML document.

Returns or sets the XML element's name. An element's name can only be changed for newly created elements. If an element belongs to an XML document its name cannot be changed.
