# What's New in TX Text Control 11.0

Tables inside tables arrived with TX Text Control 11.0, together with a method that splits a table in two. The version also reduced the size of documents through image export settings and protected PDF documents with passwords.

Version 11.0 was released in April 2004 as TX Text Control .NET for Windows Forms 11.0, as the press release [Press Release: TX Text Control .NET for Windows Forms 11.0 is Released](https://www.textcontrol.com/blog/2004/04/21/press-release-tx-text-control-net-for-windows-forms-110-is-released/) announced. `ServerTextControl` didn't exist yet: it came with [Version 12.0](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/whats-new/older-versions/1200/llms-full.txt). The classes below are part of the class library that `ServerTextControl` uses today. Features of the Windows Forms control, such as the multi-level undo buffer, the resource kit for localization, the ruler bar design, controls that grow and shrink with their text and transparent backgrounds, aren't listed here.

### Tables

- **Nested tables.** A table can contain other tables, without a limit on the nesting level, and all text filters load and save them. The `Tables` collection of a text contains its top-level and its nested tables in the order of the text flow. [Table.NestedTables](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/table/nestedtables-property/llms-full.txt) returns the tables inside a table, [Table.NestedLevel](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/table/nestedlevel-property/llms-full.txt) its level, which is 1 for a top-level table, and [Table.OuterTable](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/table/outertable-property/llms-full.txt) and [Table.OuterMostTable](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/table/outermosttable-property/llms-full.txt) the tables around it.
- **Split a table.** [Table.Split](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/table/split-method/llms-full.txt) splits a table above or below the row with the input position; [Table.CanSplit](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/table/cansplit-property/llms-full.txt) tells whether that is possible. Both parts keep the identifier of the original table, and a `TableCreated` event occurs for the bottom part, so that it can get an identifier of its own. Splitting above the first row or below the last row inserts an empty line, which is how text is typed above or below a nested table that starts or ends at the edge of its cell.
- **Table collections.** [TableBaseCollection](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/tablebasecollection/llms-full.txt) is the base class of the table collections.

### Images and PDF

- **Image export.** By default, images are saved with their own resolution and a default compression. [SaveSettings.ImageCompressionQuality](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/savesettings/imagecompressionquality-property/llms-full.txt), from 1 for the lowest to 100 for the highest quality, and [SaveSettings.ImageMaxResolution](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/savesettings/imagemaxresolution-property/llms-full.txt), in dots per inch, change this for all images of a document. [Image.ExportCompressionQuality](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/image/exportcompressionquality-property/llms-full.txt) and [Image.ExportMaxResolution](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/image/exportmaxresolution-property/llms-full.txt) override the values for one image.
- **PDF passwords.** [UserPassword](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/loadsavesettingsbase/userpassword-property/llms-full.txt) sets the password that opens the document, and [MasterPassword](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/loadsavesettingsbase/masterpassword-property/llms-full.txt) the password that protects its access permissions, which [SaveSettings.DocumentAccessPermissions](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/savesettings/documentaccesspermissions-property/llms-full.txt) sets. ### Upgrade to Version 11.0

- **Style constructors.** [InlineStyle](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/inlinestyle/llms-full.txt) and [ParagraphStyle](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-server/reference/txtextcontrol/paragraphstyle/llms-full.txt) have an additional constructor that creates a new style from an existing one and copies all its attributes.
