Getting Started takes you from an empty Visual Studio project to a Windows Forms application with a working word processor, and from there to documents that your code builds, merges, prints and saves as PDF. Every tutorial is a short set of steps with code that compiles, and none of them expects you to know TX Text Control already.

### Before You Begin

Every tutorial assumes the following setup:

- **The setup on your development machine.** Install the full or the trial version of TX Text Control .NET for Windows Forms 34.0. It provides the Visual Studio designers, the toolbox tab and the local package source **Text Control Offline Packages**. See [Installing the Product](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-winforms/installation/setup/llms-full.txt).
- **Visual Studio and .NET.** The tutorials use Visual Studio with .NET 8 or higher, for example .NET 10, and C#. One tutorial shows a .NET Framework 4.8 project. See [System Requirements](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-winforms/installation/requirements/llms-full.txt).
- **An edition with the features you try.** The ribbon, mail merge and PDF are part of the Professional and Enterprise editions, and PDF/A and form fields of the Enterprise edition. See [Editions and Feature Availability](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-winforms/overview/editions/llms-full.txt).
