# PDFImportSettings Enumeration

> Specifies how the document structure is generated when a PDF document is imported. It is used with the LoadSettings.PDFImportSettings property and contains the following values:

- **Namespace:** `TXTextControl`

### Description

Specifies how the document structure is generated when a PDF document is imported. It is used with the [LoadSettings.PDFImportSettings](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-winforms/reference/txtextcontrol/loadsettings/pdfimportsettings-property/llms-full.txt) property and contains the following values:

### Members

| Value | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| GenerateLines | 1 | Text only,images and paragraph formatting are discarded. This option is best suited for searching PDF files. |
| GenerateParagraphs | 2 | Generates paragraphs from the text flow. Images are discarded. |
| GenerateTextFrames | 4 | Default. Uses tables, images and text frames to create a document that best matches the original document's appearance. |
| GenerateTextFramesFirstPageOnly | 128 | Same as GenerateTextFrames, but only the first page is loaded. Can be used for previewing the document. |
| GenerateXML | 8 | Obsolete. This setting will be removed in a future version. Use LoadEmbeddedData instead. |
| LoadEmbeddedData | 32 | Provides the PDF document's metadata, form fields and text coordinates through the [LoadSettings.EmbeddedData](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-winforms/reference/txtextcontrol/loadsettings/embeddeddata-property/llms-full.txt) property. |
| LoadEmbeddedFiles | 16 | Default. Files embedded in the PDF document are loaded and provided through the [LoadSettings.EmbeddedFiles](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-winforms/reference/txtextcontrol/loadsavesettingsbase/embeddedfiles-property/llms-full.txt) property. |

### Examples

The following example selects the Generate Lines value from the PDFImport Settings enumeration and uses it as a documented workflow choice.
