WPF itself runs only on Windows, and so does every part of TX Text Control .NET for WPF: the setups are Windows installers, the native libraries of the document engine are Windows libraries and your application runs on a Windows desktop or server. Below are the Windows versions you can develop on, and the Windows components that must be present where your application runs.

### Windows for Development

The requirements documentation of TX Text Control .NET for WPF lists these Windows versions:

| Windows | Versions |
|---|---|
| Client | Windows 10 and Windows 11 |
| Server | Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022 |

You install the full or the trial version with a Windows setup on the development machine. See [Installing the Product](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/installation/setup/llms-full.txt).

### Windows on the User's Machine

The application you build runs on Windows. The native libraries of TX Text Control, in the NuGet package and in the setup, exist for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows only, and for no other operating system or processor architecture. Which of the two sets your application loads is explained in [32-bit and 64-bit Applications](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/installation/requirements/32-bit-64-bit/#why-bitness-matters), and where each set is in [Native Libraries](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/deployment/assemblies/#native-libraries).

### Windows Components

The machine that runs your application needs two Windows components: the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime, in the bitness of your application, for the native libraries, and the Microsoft XML parser 3.0 for the XML features of TX Text Control. [Visual C++ Runtime Dependencies](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/deployment/vc-runtime/llms-full.txt) names the files and the redistributable package and shows how to include them in your deployment.
