# What's New in TX Text Control 15.1

Images and text frames got a common base class in TX Text Control 15.1, with an identifier, a name and a position that code can change. The version also sets the export format of all images of a document at once and creates images from objects in memory.

Version 15.1 was released in December 2009 as TX Text Control .NET for Windows Forms 15.1 and TX Text Control Server for ASP.NET (incl. Windows Forms) 15.1, as the blog article [TX Text Control 15.1 Has Been Released](https://www.textcontrol.com/blog/2009/12/02/tx-text-control-151-has-been-released/) announced. According to the [press release](https://www.textcontrol.com/blog/2009/12/05/press-release-tx-text-control-151-is-released/), it also improved the rendering quality of images. TX Text Control .NET for WPF didn't exist yet: its first version was [Version 16.0](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/whats-new/older-versions/1600/llms-full.txt), and the classes below belong to the class library that it shares with the Windows Forms edition. Features of the Windows Forms control, such as drag and drop, display colors, the unlimited zoom factor and the mouse wheel, aren't listed here.

- **Identifier and name.** [FrameBase.ID](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/framebase/id-property/llms-full.txt) and [FrameBase.Name](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/framebase/name-property/llms-full.txt) identify an image or a text frame. [ImageCollection.GetItem](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/imagecollection/getitem-method/llms-full.txt) and [TextFrameCollection.GetItem](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/textframecollection/getitem-method/llms-full.txt) find one by its identifier or its name.
- **Position.** [FrameBase.Location](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/framebase/location-property/llms-full.txt) and the `InsertionMode` of images and text frames can be set, so that code can move an object or change how it is inserted.
- **Alignment.** [FrameBase.Alignment](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/framebase/alignment-property/llms-full.txt) aligns an image or a text frame that is anchored to a paragraph.
- **Images from memory.** A new constructor of [Image](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/image/llms-full.txt) takes a `System.Drawing.Image` object, so that an image can be inserted without a file.

### Saving Images and Fonts

- **Image export for the whole document.** [SaveSettings.ImageSaveMode](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/savesettings/imagesavemode-property/llms-full.txt) and [SaveSettings.ImageExportFilterIndex](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/savesettings/imageexportfilterindex-property/llms-full.txt) save all images of a document with one saving mode and in one format. - **Supported fonts.** [ServerTextControl.GetSupportedFonts](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/servertextcontrol/getsupportedfonts-method/llms-full.txt) returns the names of all fonts that the formatting device set with `FormattingPrinter` supports.

### Upgrade to Version 15.1

The properties [FrameBase.Location](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/framebase/location-property/llms-full.txt), [Image.InsertionMode](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/image/insertionmode-property/llms-full.txt) and [TextFrame.InsertionMode](https://docs.textcontrol.com/tx-text-control-dotnet-wpf/reference/txtextcontrol/textframe/insertionmode-property/llms-full.txt) were read-only before and can now be set.

### New Classes, Properties, Methods and Events

The classes and members below are the ones that the What's New documentation of version 15.1 lists for TX Text Control .NET for WPF. Names are relative to the `TXTextControl` namespace, each name links to its current reference page, and "(obsolete)" marks a member that is obsolete today. The version's own list also names `ImageCollection` as a new class, but version 12.0 already added overloads of `ImageCollection.Add` for anchored images, so it isn't listed under New Classes.
