.NET
.NET applications reach ReportingCloud through the .NET SDK, the NuGet package TXTextControl.ReportingCloud, which wraps the Web API in the class ReportingCloud and C# classes for its requests and responses. The two tutorials below build the same kind of first application, a web page that shows or delivers a merged PDF, on the two .NET platforms the package supports, so you can start with the one your application runs on.
Two Platforms, One Package
| ASP.NET Core | .NET Framework | |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | .NET 10, on Windows, Linux and macOS | .NET Framework 4.8, on Windows only |
| Application | ASP.NET Core MVC | ASP.NET MVC 5 |
| Template | A gallery template that you add to your storage | The demo template sample_invoice.tx of a trial account |
| Merge data | C# objects of a model class | An anonymous C# object |
| Tutorial | ASP.NET Core | .NET Framework |
Both install the same package: TXTextControl.ReportingCloud contains builds for the .NET Framework, .NET Core and .NET Standard, and NuGet picks the one that fits your project. For a new application, choose ASP.NET Core.
What Both Tutorials Need
- A ReportingCloud account and an API key. A trial account is enough. Creating an Account shows how to sign up, and API Keys how to create a key in the ReportingCloud portal.
- Visual Studio or the .NET CLI. The ASP.NET Core tutorial was written with Visual Studio 2026 and .NET 10, the .NET Framework tutorial with Visual Studio 2022 and the .NET Framework 4.8.
Pages in This Section
- ASP.NET Core: merge a gallery template with C# objects in an ASP.NET Core MVC application and show the PDF in the browser.
- .NET Framework: list the templates of your storage and merge an invoice in an ASP.NET MVC 5 application.
.NET in SDKs describes every method of the package, its request objects and its errors.
