What's New
DS Server 5.0, released in March 2026, is the current major version, and 5.0.2, released on July 2, 2026, is its latest update. Every major version since 1.0 has a page here that lists what it and its updates changed, area by area, and what to do when you upgrade to it. Use the pages to find out when a feature arrived, or what an upgrade means for your installation and your code.
How DS Server Is Versioned
DS Server has version numbers of its own, independent of TX Text Control. Each release is built on a release of TX Text Control, which provides the document processing engine of the Web API, the Document Editor and the Document Viewer.
- Major versions such as 4.0 or 5.0 bring the larger changes: a new TX Text Control version, a new .NET version or a new way to install DS Server.
- Updates such as 3.1.1 or 5.0.2 bring fixes and, in some cases, a newer release of TX Text Control, new endpoints or features. Update 3.2.0, for example, moved DS Server to TX Text Control 32.0. A version page covers the major version and all of its updates.
- Client packages such as
TXTextControl.DocumentServices.DocumentProcessingon NuGet and@txtextcontrol/tx-ng-ds-document-editoron npm use the version numbers of DS Server. Not every update of DS Server comes with new packages: use the latest package of your major version.

Find the Version You Run
- In the admin portal. The footer of every page of the admin portal shows the version, for example "DS Server version 5.0.2". Administration and Settings explains how to open the portal.
- In the archive. The download archive is named after the version, such as DS Server 5.0.2.zip, and the CHANGELOG.md in its core and classic folders lists every release since 3.0.0 with its date.
- On the web. The release pages on dsserver.io, such as What's New in DS Server 5.0, summarize each major version.
