.NET
Both NuGet packages target net8.0 and install in projects for .NET 8 and every later version; projects for .NET 5, 6 or 7 can't use the packages of version 11.0. .NET and .NET Framework lists the supported versions and what a package brings into a project.
.NET Framework
.NET Framework projects reference TXSpell.dll and TXSpell.WPF.dll from the installation and get the license through licenses.licx. .NET and .NET Framework describes the supported versions, 4.5 to 4.8.
Operating Systems
You develop on Windows, and WPF applications run on Windows. Code with TXSpell and without TX Text Control also runs on Linux, for example in a Docker container. Windows Versions lists the Windows versions and when a published application needs a target runtime.
Visual Studio
TX Spell .NET 11.0 is used with Visual Studio 2022, with C# or Visual Basic; Visual Studio names the project templates.
TX Text Control
TX Spell .NET 11.0 was released together with TX Text Control 33.0, and the tutorials of this documentation use it with TX Text Control .NET for WPF 34.0. TX Text Control connects to the spell checker through its SpellChecker property, without further code.
Without TX Text Control, TX Spell .NET checks the RichTextBox and the TextBox of WPF, any other control, and text in code. With TX Text Control .NET Server, the package TXTextControl.TXSpell.Core.SDK checks the text of the ServerTextControl and of the Document Editor.
Major versions of both products are released together, so plan an upgrade of both at the same time; Update Together With TX Text Control pairs the versions.
Display Scaling
DPI and Display Scaling describes how the dialogs of TX Spell .NET behave on screens with high resolutions.
Languages
The packages bring the US English language data; the dictionaries of other languages are free downloads, as Supported Languages lists. The user interface of the dialogs is in English and German, and in other languages with the Resource Kit.
