What's New in TX Text Control 10.1
Formatting styles, the input position and the formatted lines and characters of a document became objects of the class library in TX Text Control 10.1. These classes are still the basis of text formatting and text navigation in TX Text Control .NET for WPF.
Version 10.1 was released in April 2003 as a free update of the ActiveX and .NET editions, as the blog article TX Text Control 10.1 Released -- FREE UPDATE announced. ServerTextControl didn't exist yet: it came with Version 12.0, and the WPF edition followed with Version 16.0. What's new in version 10.1 is documented as a list of new classes and members only, without a description of features.

Formatting Styles
- Two kinds of styles. An InlineStyle formats single words in a line, and a ParagraphStyle formats whole paragraphs, including their ParagraphFormat and ListFormat. Both derive from FormattingStyle, which holds the character attributes such as FontName, FontSize, Bold and ForeColor.
- Collections. InlineStyleCollection and ParagraphStyleCollection contain the styles of a document; their
Add,GetItemandRemovemethods add, find and remove styles. - Apply a style. FormattingStyle.Apply applies the attributes of a style to the document, and Selection.FormattingStyle gets or sets the style of the selected text. ParagraphStyle.FollowingStyle names the style of the paragraph that follows when a user presses ENTER.
- Inherited attributes. InlineStyle.IsInheritedFromParagraph tells whether attributes of an inline style come from the surrounding paragraph, and InlineStyle.ResetToParagraph resets them to its values.
Text, Paragraphs, and Stylesheets covers styles and paragraph formatting in the current version.
Input Position, Lines and Characters
- Input position. An InputPosition object gives the Page, Line and Column of the input position, its TextPosition and its geometric Location.
- Lines. A LineCollection contains the lines of a text as Line objects, each with its Number, its first character (Start, one-based), its Length, its Text, its Baseline and its TextBounds. Line.Save saves the text of a line in a format.
- Characters. A TextCharCollection contains the characters as TextChar objects with their Char, Number and Bounds. GetItem finds the character at a geometric position.
- Headers and footers. HeaderFooter.Lines, HeaderFooter.TextChars and HeaderFooter.Tables give the lines, characters and tables of a header or footer.
Viewing, Zooming, and Navigation shows how the WPF TextControl follows the input position today.
