TX Text Control .NET for WPF

Components

Topic

Which pieces of TX Text Control .NET for WPF does a window need? The product consists of WPF controls that you declare in XAML and users work with, and of .NET classes that process documents in code. Each has a page below with what it does, how you set it up and the members you start with, so you can pick the parts your application uses.

All of them share one document engine. A template that a user designs in the editor is the document that MailMerge fills, and a document that ServerTextControl builds in memory looks the same when the editor loads it.

ServerTextControlCreates, converts and changes documents without anything on screenCreated in code

The toolbox tab TX Text Control 34.0 holds TextControl, ButtonBar, RulerBar, StatusBar, Sidebar and the twelve ribbon tabs. The mini toolbars need no item of their own, because the editor opens them. Product Architecture shows how the parts connect.

What Makes the WPF Components Different

  • Connections are names. Properties such as TextControl.RulerBar, TextControl.RibbonFormattingTab and Sidebar.TextControl take the Name of another element as a string, so the connections are written in XAML.
  • The ribbon is Microsoft's. TX Text Control supplies the tabs, and Microsoft's System.Windows.Controls.Ribbon hosts them.
  • Classes of the document are shared. Selection, Table, Image and the other classes of a document are the same in the editor, in ServerTextControl and in the other TX Text Control products for .NET.

Where to Start

Begin with WPF.TextControl: the bars and the sidebar surround it, and ServerTextControl shares its programming interface for documents. Continue with the component your application needs next. If you would rather build a working window first, Create Your First WPF Application in Getting Started does that step by step.
