The reference lists the classes of TX Text Control .NET for WPF by namespace. When you know the task, such as formatting text, filling a table, adding a ruler or merging a template, but not the class, start here: each section below names the member of WPF.TextControl where the task begins, the classes and members you work with and the topic page that shows them in code.

Every class and member links to its page in the class library reference. Most sections start at WPF.TextControl, the editor element of your window. The same document classes are reached through ServerTextControl when a document is processed without a visible editor, as Using ServerTextControl in Desktop Applications describes. The last section, Base Classes and Interfaces, shows which classes share a base class.

Character Formatting

Character attributes such as font, size, color and underline are properties of the current selection. On an empty selection, they apply to the text typed next.

A document is divided into sections, and each section defines its own page size, margins, columns and page border.

WPF.TextControl has no Charts collection and no chart events. A ChartFrame always holds a Windows Forms chart control, so ChartCollection and ChartEventArgs appear in the reference without a WPF entry point. Charts and Barcodes explains what to use instead.

The field adapters of TXTextControl.DocumentServer.Fields wrap an ApplicationField and read and change the settings of a Microsoft Word field or content control through typed properties.

IFormattedText is implemented by WPF.TextControl, ServerTextControl, MainText, HeaderFooter, TextFrame, FootnoteText and FootnoteSection. Code written against the interface works with the main text and with every other text part.

The ribbon tabs derive from System.Windows.Controls.Ribbon.RibbonTab, the ButtonBar from System.Windows.Controls.ToolBar, and the barcode and drawing elements from System.Windows.FrameworkElement. The four value converters implement IValueConverter.
