TX Text Control .NET for Windows Forms

Upgrade Guide

Topic

A project that already uses TX Text Control .NET for Windows Forms moves to version 34.0 in one of three ways: a service pack updates the version it uses, a new major version replaces an earlier one, and a .NET Framework project can move to .NET 8 or higher at the same time. An application built with TX Text Control ActiveX takes a fourth path: its code is ported to a Windows Forms project. Find the path that fits your project below, and the changes your code may need.

Before You Upgrade

  • Check your subscription. New major versions are included while your subscription is active. See Licensing Overview.
  • Check the target framework. Since version 33.0, the NuGet package requires .NET 8 or higher. See .NET and .NET Framework.
  • Read the breaking changes of every version between yours and 34.0 before you change the project.
