What's New in TX Text Control ActiveX 34.0
TX Text Control ActiveX 34.0 writes accessible PDF documents: every PDF it saves carries a logical structure that makes it accessible to users with disabilities, and three new properties of TXTextControl give tables, fields and objects the descriptive texts that go with it. What follows lists the features and members the version added since version 32.0; there is no ActiveX version 33.0.
Version 34.0 was released in November 2025, at the same time as TX Text Control .NET Server, TX Text Control .NET for Windows Forms and TX Text Control .NET for WPF 34.0.
New Features
- PDF Accessibility and PDF/A-3 Support. PDF documents now include several features that make them accessible to users with disabilities. In addition to its visible content, a PDF document stores a logical structure, and each of the two points to the other. Because the structure is stored apart from the visible content, the order and nesting of its logical elements don't depend on the order and location of the graphics objects on the pages.
- Document structure. The structure tree organizes the document into chapters, headings, paragraphs and sections, and it identifies special elements such as text frames, tables, tables of contents and footnotes.
- Descriptive texts. You give tables, hyperlinks, form fields, images, text frames, signature fields and OLE objects a descriptive text with the TableDescriptiveText, FieldDescriptiveText and ObjectDescriptiveText properties.
